San Bernardino, CA - The Lancaster JetHawks showed no ill-effects from having to spend their originally scheduled Tuesday off-day travelling to San Jose for a double-header before doubling back to face the 66ers on Wednesday night at San Manuel Stadium. Lancaster's first four batters scored against Inland Empire starter Justin Anderson by the time the first out of the contest was recorded on the JetHawks' way to a 6-1 series opening win.

Johnny Sewald doubled to open the contest for Lancaster who moved to .500 on the year at 26-26 with the victory. Anderson then walked Garrett Stubbs and Ramon Laureano singled in Sewald to take a 1-0 lead. Brooks Marlow followed with a two run triple and then came home on Bryan Muniz' RBI ground out for a 4-0 lead. Anderson threw 38 pitches in the first inning. He settled down and went 4.2 IP with the four runs allowed on six hits with three walks and seven K's but fell to 1-6 on the year.

Inland Empire (18-35) was able to get a run across in the second versus JetHawks' starter Rogelio Armenteros (3-1). Jeff Boehm tagged a double off the wall in left with two outs and came home the next batter when Zach Houchins drilled a double down the right field line to make it 4-1. The Sixers only had one runner get past second base the rest of the night as Armenteros went five innings allowing four hits and a walk with six K's. Dean Deetz and Jacob Dorris split the final four frames surrendering just a pair of hits between them. Tim Arakawa had two hits in the game for Inland Empire. Josh Roenicke tossed 2.1 scoreless innings for the Sixers giving up a hit and striking out two.

Sewald finished the game with three hits for Lancaster including a pair of doubles while Marlow and Jason Martin each had a pair of singles. Marlow and Laureano each drove in two runs.

The series continues on Thursday at 7:05 pm. It can be heard live at 66ers.com and 1570 AM KPRO.
