Salt Lake Bees News Release
The Las Vegas 51s scored two runs in the bottom of the tenth inning to edge the Salt Lake Bees 9-8 on Tuesday night. After the 51s had tied the game with a run in the bottom of the ninth, the Bees regained the lead in the top of the tenth on Ian Stewart's first home run in a Salt Lake uniform. Matt den Dekker led off the bottom of the tenth with a double into the left field corner off Bees reliever Yoslan Herrera (1-4). He advanced to third on an infield single by Matt Reynolds. A fielder's choice erased den Dekker, but left runners at second and third. After an intentional walk, Josh Satin lined Fernando Nieve into the left field corner to bring home the tying and winning runs.
The Las Vegas comeback came with all nine runs coming off of the Bees' bullpen after starter Anthony Lerew tossed five scoreless innings. Lerew, who left the game with a 5-0 lead, allowed four hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Stewart and J.B. Shuck each led Salt Lake with three hits and one run batted in, while Tommy Field added three hits and three runs scored. The loss for the Bees was their league high 10th when leading after seven innings.
