51's Snap Sox 6-Game Winning Streak

Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release


The Sky Sox had their 6-game winning streak snapped Saturday night by the Las Vegas 51's in a 5-4 game. The 51's scored 4 unearned runs in the bottom of the 7th, all after Clint Barmes' error with 2 outs. Kit Pellow hit his 11th home run of the season in the top of the 9th to bring the Sox to within 1 run, but Choo Freeman struck out to end the inning with Barmes on 1st base. Sox starter Jason Young pitched 6 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits, striking out 7 and walking none. The Sox and 51's square off again this afternoon in Vegas with the Sox sending Cory Vance (8-7, 4.46) to the mound against the 51's Lindsay Gulin (7-7, 4.85).
