As tradition has it, when the Sarnia Sting score their first goal, the gracious fans respond by tossing their stuffed toys onto the ice. The toys are gathered from the ice and then transported to Lambton Ford to go on display until the stuffed toy makes its' way to its' new home. Over the past 22 seasons the Sarnia Sting and Lambton Ford have helped to collect over 63,250 stuffed toys, distributed to those who need it most in our community.
These special gifts have reached the hearts of many local families that have had involvement with the following organizations: Salvation Army, Pathways Children's Treatment Center, Inn of the Good Sheppard, Sarnia Kinsmen, Local 663, Women's Pregnancy Crisis Center, The Women's Interval Home, and other local charities.
Last year Sting forward Jamieson Rees scored a dazzling breakaway goal to send the bears flying. To this day no Sting player has scored the coveted goal on back to back years. Rees can do so when the puck drops on December 6th.
The Sarnia Sting and Lambton Ford would like to thank those who help make this event a success each year and the fans who continue to support it.
