2024 Ronald McDonald Hockey Challenge February 24
February 16, 2024 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Seattle Thunderbirds News Release
[Kent, WA] - Twenty-six years ago, Microsoft hockey teams started a friendly competition that quickly translated into an epic rivalry between Windows and Exchange teams, now Azure and Office 365. It turned into the RMHC Hockey Challenge to raise $2 million for the expansion of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Western Washington & Alaska. The annual Hockey Challenge continued as a fun-filled annual event throughout the northwest hockey community. Microsoft teams are now joined by teams sponsored by Georgetown Brewing, Seatown Electric Plumbing Heathing & Air, and more.
For 26 remarkable years, the Seattle Thunderbirds have supported the hockey community as they demonstrated unwavering dedication to raise more than $7 million in support of the families at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington & Alaska.
February 24 will mark the final RMHC Hockey Challenge. "We are filled with gratitude and nostalgia for the journey we've shared. It's a momentous occasion, and we cherish the legacy of support that this
event has embodied." Vanessa Kirk Briley, Director of Development - Corporate and Community Relationships.
Everyone is invited to join the celebration with the Seattle Thunderbirds, the inspiring team captains, players, and dedicated volunteers who have been instrumental in making the RMHC Hockey Challenge an incredible fundraiser year after year. Tickets to the February 24 Seattle Thunderbirds game gain access to the RMHC Hockey Challenge, with part of the proceeds going to support the Seattle Ronald McDonald House with coupon code "RMHC".
"When a child is battling a serious illness, families shouldn't have to worry about anything but being there to support their sick child. The Seattle Thunderbirds are happy to support this event for the Ronald McDonald House, so seriously ill children and their families have the comforts of home near the medical care they need." Colin Campbell, President of the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Whichever team you cheer for, the ultimate showdown is going to score big on February 24, 2024 at The RMHC Hockey Challenge and The Seattle Thunderbirds game.
Thunderbirds take on the Everett Silvertipsat 6:05pm to wrap up the day!
