2021 IronBirds Schedule Released

February 18, 2021 - High-A East League (High-A East) - Aberdeen IronBirds News Release

ABERDEEN, Maryland - This is an incredibly exciting day for our team. We are very proud to be a part of the Baltimore Orioles system and continue to do what we do best - create a best-in-class fan experience, develop big league ballplayers, grow our business and support our community. Our fans can rest assured that the future of baseball in Aberdeen is strong.

We have been engaged with Major League Baseball and the Baltimore Orioles to forge a relationship that preserves the history and tradition of the minors, while creating a modern player development system that will benefit everyone - fans, players, teams and communities - for decades to come.

Going forward, we will have access to MLB's partnerships, tools, technology and content which will help us enhance the fan experience, provide more resources, and improve player development. This system creates better stability throughout the sport. We'll have even more exciting sponsorships, new benefits for our fans, be able to bring more exposure to our team and our players, and build a cohesive digital ecosystem with Major League Baseball.

Commissioner of Baseball Robert D. Manfred, Jr. said: "We are excited to unveil this new model, which not only provides a pipeline to the Majors, but continues the Minor Leagues' tradition of entertaining millions of families in hundreds of communities. In modernizing our Minor League system, we prioritized the qualities that make the Minor Leagues such an integral part of our game while strengthening how we develop professional athletes on and off the field. We look forward to demonstrating the best of our game throughout local communities, supporting all those who are working hard to grow the sport, and sharing unrivaled technology and resources with minor league teams and players."

"The IronBirds can't wait to begin a new era in professional baseball in Aberdeen," said Jack Graham, IronBirds' General Manager. "More baseball at a higher level will mean a better experience at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium, with the same family-friendly, affordable options that Harford County has come to know and love!"

This new system also opens up the possibility of exciting opportunities that would bring MLB's presence closer to our community. More teams will have marketing synergy and the benefit of proximity than existed previously.

We will tap into years of accumulated insights, building on what we know about how to develop professional athletes. Players will benefit from increased compensation, a better lifestyle, and a more holistic approach to player development that incorporates wellness, nutrition, reduced travel times, a focus on nutrition, and access to best practices from around baseball. Minor League players will train every day in new/improved/world-class facilities suited for their professional development.

2021 SEASON SEAT / PLAN HOLDERS - With the 2021 schedule release, we are in the process of spacing all season seat members out in the ballpark in compliance with MLB and Maryland's social distancing laws and regulations. Please be patient. We have thousands of IronBirds season seat accounts and a reduced ticketing staff to process them. We are doing our best to keep everyone in their same section in socially distanced pods of seats. As a bonus and to thank our season seat members, they will receive additional games at no cost, for rolling your plan into the 2021 season.

If you have any questions, please email Justin Gentilcore ([email protected]) directly. Our phone lines may be busy as our staff is working on completing the reseating process as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience!

We can't wait for the 2021 season to start and look forward to a successful partnership with the Baltimore Orioles for years to come.
