2014 Central Wisconsin Baseball Hall of Fame Inductees Announced

Wausau, WIS - The Central Wisconsin Baseball Hall of Fame is proud to announce the inductees for the 2014 class.

The 2014 inductee class includes:

- Ken Roesler - Ken Roesler graduated from Athens High School in 1955 where he was a stand-out athlete competing in both baseball and basketball. Roesler then continued his athletic career at Carroll College in Waukesha. At Carroll, he hit .555 as a freshman and .466 as a sophomore. Upon the completion of his sophomore year, he was signed by the Milwaukee Braves and was assigned to their Rookie League affiliate. After hitting .294 with 16 home runs in 1960, Ken was promoted to the C-League Eau Claire team. Roesler outperformed several eventual hall of fame players in the C-League, including Dick Allen, Tony Perez, and Pete Rose. In 1963, Ken was promoted to AA and even got a spring training invitation from the Braves. Roesler's career was ended abruptly when he was injured sliding into home plate during a preseason game.

- Joe Westfall -Joe Westfall was a member of the 1992 Marathon High School Division 3 State Championship team which was the school' first ever state championship. Westfall played a pivotal role on the mound for the State Champions and he was also selected as a First Team All-State Selection in 1992. Westfall went on the play at the University of Minnesota where he was 14-11 and tallied 173 strikeouts throughout his career at Minnesota. Westfall then went on to pitch for the St. Paul Saints in 1996.

- Dick Iverson - Dick Iverson has been the Head Baseball Coach at Rib Lake High School since 1983. Entering his 28th year, Dick has recorded a career record of 356 wins and 143 for the Rib Lake Redmen. Included in those wins are conference, regional, and sectional titles throughout his tenure. Included on Iverson's coaching resume is coaching the Taylor County Legion team for over a decade. Iverson was inducted into the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2010. His background included being a two-sport standout athlete at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in baseball and basketball.

The 12th annual Central Wisconsin Baseball Hall of Fame Banquet will be held at Athletic Park on July 20 at Noon with a Ballpark Luncheon followed by an Inductee Presentation. The ceremony will wrap up around 4:05 with the Woodchucks taking on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters at 5:05. For $30, fans will receive a ticket to the Hall of Fame Banquet and a general admission ticket to the July 20 game. An upgrade to reserved seating is available for $40.
