
Blue Anchors Fall in Double Header

Alexandria Blue Anchors News Release
Alexandria, Minn. - The Alexandria Blue Anchors fell short to the Eau Claire Express Tuesday night 6-3 and 5-1 in a modified double header.
Game one featured the completion of a game that was started in Eau Claire on Monday night. We picked up the action in the bottom of the third inning with the Express up 4-0. The game would stay that until the seventh inning when the Anchors stuck for three runs on singles from Roman Collins and Nehwon Norkeh. The lead wouldn't last as the Express tacked on a run in the seventh and the eighth. Austin Smith took the loss for the Anchors, while Orlando Meza got the win for the Express.
In game two Blake Bass would take the mound for the Anchors and would pitch well, going five plus innings while only allowing one earned run. There wasn't much offense early on for either team until the third when Jordan Lee would plate Cam Duzenack on a single. The Anchors would hold the 1-0 until the sixth when Eau Claire's bats came alive. Mike Barajas would double to score Daniel Salters and Brain Mundell, two batters later Brent Gibbs would single to score Mundell. The Express would add two more in the seventh to take the game 5-1.
