15 Former Grizzlies on NHL Opening Day Rosters

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies announced today that 15 of their former players are on NHL opening day rosters, representing 9 teams as the league opens play with five games Thursday.
Four of the 15 former Grizzlies in the NHL are goaltenders, including Dan Ellis and Mike Smith who both played for Utah during the 2003-2004 season and currently make up Tampa Bay's goaltending combination.
Two members of the 2007-2008 Grizzlies are on opening day rosters for the first time with Nathan Lawson listed as one of three goaltenders for the New York Islanders along with former Utah teammate Andrew MacDonald.

Grizzlies open the 2010-2011 season Friday, October 15 in Alaska with the home opener being Friday, October 22 when Utah welcomes Bakersfield to Maverik Center for a 7:05 p.m. start.
