
Salmon Kings and UBC Thunderbirds Do Battle this Weekend

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, along with their partners 100.3 The Q and The Zone @ 91.3, present two exhibition contests versus the University of British Columbia (UBC) Thunderbirds at the Save-On-Foods Memorial this Saturday, October 9th and Sunday, October 10th.
Saturday evening's contest will take place at 7:05 p.m., while the teams will square off for a 12:00 p.m. start on Sunday afternoon. Admission for both games will be by donation to the TLC Fund for Kids. Following Sunday's afternoon game, the Salmon Kings present their first of two "Skate with the Salmon Kings" for the 2010-11 season. Skates will be available to rent through the City of Victoria by donation.
During both exhibition games, the Salmon Kings will be selling hot dogs, popcorn and pop available for only $1.00! For a great night of free entertainment with dollar dogs, popcorn and medium pop, make sure you don't miss out on action as the players battle it out for a spot on this year's roster! Vouchers for dollar dogs, popcorn and pop are now available for download and print from www.theq.fm, www.thezone.fm or www.salmonkings.com next Monday, September 13th.
The Salmon Kings are also offering a pre-season blowout sale from the "Kings Things", the official team store of the Victoria Salmon Kings. Room is needed for new merchandise for the 2010-11 season and selected items are available for purchase at great discounts! The sale is running now through this Sunday, October 10th. Kings Things is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, and will be open on both exhibition game days from the opening of the building an hour prior to puck drop until the end of the game.
The Salmon Kings open the 2010-11 season on Friday, October 15th in Idaho with a two-game set versus the defending National Conference champion Steelheads. Victoria returns home to open up their schedule at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre with a three-game set versus the Ontario Reign beginning Wednesday, October 27th. Season tickets and mini packs for the Salmon Kings' 2010-11 season are now on sale.
