Goaltender Adam Courchaine Assigned to Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Adam Courchaine ["CORE shane"] has been assigned by the Boston Bruins from the Providence Bruins of the AHL to Reading. In a separate transaction, the Royals released goaltender Brent Troyan from his Tryout Agreement.

Courchaine (6'3/193) (21), who hails from Kanata, Ontario, split last season between the Sarnia Sting and Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League, where compiled an overall record of 20-24-1 with a 3.24 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. Courchaine, who racked up three regular season shutouts last year, played two playoff games for the Otters (0-2, 4.50 gaa, .886 save percentage). Courchaine, who attended Boston' s rookie camp, appeared in one pre-season game for Providence, stopping seven of eleven shots in 29:34 of game time in a 4-3 loss to the Springfield Falcons on October 2.
