11th Annual United Celebrity Golf Tournament Sold Out

Washington, D.C. (June 18, 2012) - United for D.C., the non-profit arm of D.C. United, announced today that the 11th Annual United Celebrity Golf Tournament, supported by Cushman & Wakefield, is sold out . Golfers will gather at 1757 Golf Club in Dulles, Virginia for a 1:00 p.m. ET shotgun start on Tuesday, June 19. Participants in this year's event will play alongside current and former United players and coaches as well as a host of other local and national sports and media celebrities, all while raising money for United for D.C.

In addition to D.C. United players, confirmed celebrities for the event include, former Redskin great, Ken Harvey, current wide receiver Anthony Armstrong, and Hells Kitchen champion, Rock Harper. Local news anchor, Steve Cheveney and former D.C. United players John Harkes, Jaime Moreno and AJ Wood will also be in attendance to help United for D.C. raise money to provide resources to at-risk and underserved youth.

All proceeds from the event will go to benefit United for D.C., which was established by D.C. United as a 501 (c) 3 organization in 2002. The non-profit has three signature programs: United Reads which encourages a love for reading and healthy lifestyles in six local public schools; Kicks for Kids, which provides the game-day experience to thousands of at-risk and under-served youth each season; and United Soccer Club, which provides free after-school soccer programming to disadvantaged urban children throughout the greater D.C. area.
