CARSON, Calif. (Monday, June 18, 2012) - Chivas USA's (2-1-2) reserve team took to the pitch this Monday afternoon at The Home Depot Center's Track and Field against Portland Timbers (2-3-1) in a 2-2 draw as part of the MLS Reserves League. Forwards Sebastian Rincon and Brent Richards scored in favor of the visiting team, and Casey Townsend and Sebastian Stachnik in favor of the Red-and-White.

* Goat's next reserves match will take place on Monday, June 25th at 11:00 am (PT) versus Vancouver Whitecaps at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

* The Portland Timbers initiated the scoring in the 13th minute when Rincon was left virtually alone within the 18-yard box, leaving Chivas USA's Tim Melia with little possibility of stopping the goal. The sequence began when Rincon received an excellent cross from the right side of the wing, from former Chivas USA player Sal Zizzo, while making a run toward the right side of the goal. The ball sailed over the defense, took a quick bounce, and was eventually tapped in from 3 yards out by Rincon to make it a 1-0 match.

* After a relentless attacking sequence by the Portland Timbers, Chivas USA were finally able to even up the score in the 29th minute when a brilliant Scott Gordon was able to get passed his defender on the right wing and provide a low cross toward an unattended Townsend who placed himself right outside the 6-yard box; the forward, without hesitation, sent the ball toward the center of the goal to equalize the match 1-1.

* In the second half, Portland Timber's defender Ryan Kawulok took it upon himself in the 58th minute to give the visiting team the lead when he sent a cross toward Richards who was asserting himself within the 18 yard box by running toward the right side of the goal and then smashing it home to make it a 2-1 match.

* Chivas USA was able to even up the score once again when they were awarded a corner kick in the 69th minute. Laurent Courtois commenced the play by crossing the ball toward the far post of the goal to a sprinting Stachnik who beat the defense and headed the ball into the goal. This play capped off the scoring leaving the final result a 2-2 tie.

* The Goats have a short week and get right back to action on the pitch as they host Montreal, Wednesday, June 20th, 7:30 pm (PT) at The Home Depot Center. The match will broadcast on television, live on Prime Ticket in English. For more information about the game please visit cdchivasusa.com .
