10th-Inning Heroics Back Jurado's Masterpiece as Riders Defeat Missions

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - A three-run rally in the top of the 10th helped the Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, get back to their winning ways in a 5-2 victory Tuesday in San Antonio.

BIG MOMENTS

After the Missions tied the game on a homer in the ninth, Michael O'Neill restored the lead for the Riders in the 10th with an RBI double. The Riders collected insurance runs on RBI singles from Hunter Cole and Luis Yander La O later in the inning.

Lefty Adam Choplick struck out the side in the 10th to seal the victory.

Riders starter Ariel Jurado permitted one run on four hits in 6 2/3 innings Tuesday, logging his first quality start of the season. Jurado induced 14 groundouts in the no-decision.

The Riders grabbed an early 2-0 lead on a two-run homer from Eliezer Alvarez in the second inning.

NEWS AND NOTES

Tuesday's win helped the Riders snap an 11-game losing streak.

In five career starts at Wolff Stadium, Jurado is 1-1 with a 1.52 ERA.

Riders starters have turned in back-to-back quality starts after amassing just one in the season's first 16 games.

O'Neill has reached base safely in all 11 games this season.
