$10,000 Season Ticket Holder Giveaway Planned
February 23, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - Couldn't you go for a nice, big pile of money right about now? How does $10,000 sound? If things go well down the stretch drive for the Bakersfield Condors, one lucky season ticket holder will walk away from this season $10,000 richer.
The premise is this: from March 11th through the first home game of the opening round of the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs, the Condors have 10 home games remaining. If the Condors win all ten of those remaining home games, one name will be drawn at random from the team's season ticket holder database. Their prize will be a $10,000 jackpot.
The winner must be a 2004-05 season ticket holder, and a deadline has been set as Friday, March 11th to sign up for pro-rated season tickets. All current season ticket holders will be automatically eligible. The goal of the contest is to raise the season ticket holder base in order to bring in the largest crowds possible to help cheer on the team to victory. The Condors have already surpassed their win total at home from all of last season (15), and need eight more at home to match the Condors record of 23. Bakersfield has a record of 3-0-1 when drawing over 7,000 fans at home this season and 14- 2-1 in the top 17 attended games in team history.
" The team plays great when we have big crowds in the building and we need the fans' support if we're going to make a push toward a championship," said BSE President Matthew Riley. "We'll be pulling for the boys to have a strong finish to the season in our drive to the playoffs, and this is a great way to reward our fans for contributing each and every game. Plus, I don't know anyone who couldn't use 10,000 bucks!"
The Condors head to Long Beach on Friday night for a 7:30 p.m. contest. All Condors games home and away can be heard live on KGEO AM 1230, online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com and are now available for viewing through B2 Networks on the official Condors website. The Condors return home on Saturday against the San Diego Gulls, when SpongeBob Squarepants will be in the house, courtesy of Bright House Networks, Real Rock 93.1 and Subway. Game time is 7:00 p.m. and the doors open at 6:00 p.m.
