Ryan Flinn Bobblehead Night Set for April 7

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that Thursday, April 7th is Ryan Flinn bobblehead night in the Sovereign Center. Its Reading's final regular season home game and they will clash with North Division rival Toledo at 7:05 p.m.

Ryan Flinn is the first player in Royals history to begin his professional career in Reading and advance to the National Hockey League. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound forward appeared in 20 games in the Royals inaugural season and collected a goal and four points with 130 penalty minutes. Flinn recorded the first fighting majors on the road (10/19/01 @ Greensboro) and at home (10/17/01 vs. Roanoke Express) in Royals history.

Royals general manager Ray Delia said Flinn returning to Reading is a great gift to Reading fans, "This is a great opportunity to do something really special for our fans on Fan Appreciation Night. Ryan played such an important role in making this franchise what it is today. Bringing back the most popular player in team history is a fantastic way for us to link the past with the present. It should be quite a memorable night for everyone!"

The Halifax, Nova Scotia native was called up to the Royals primary AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs, on December 6, 2001. He appeared in 37 games with the Monarchs and collected one assist with 113 penalty minutes. Flinn made his debut in the NHL with the Kings on January 24, 2002. In his first shift, the 21-year-old rookie collected a major for fighting. He skated in a total of 10 games in the NHL and recorded 51 minutes in penalties. He officially signed an NHL contract with the Kings in January of 2002 and has since inked one-year agreements (2003 & 2004). Flinn has been sidelined for the majority of this season with a foot injury that required surgery.

He will be signing autographs on the concourse as the Royals tangle with the Toledo Storm. It's Fan Appreciation Night in the Sovereign Center as well, with prizes being awarded to attending patrons throughout the game.

The Royals travel to Peoria, Illinois for the final time in the regular season this weekend. Reading meets the hard charging Rivermen on Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET at Carver Arena. The Royals finish off the three-in-three weekend with a Sunday afternoon tilt with the Toledo Storm in the Sports Arena at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Tuesday, March 1, the first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a free bowling pass from Bowl-O-Rama in Exeter. Reading battles Dayton on Friday, March 4 at 7:05 p.m. and it's the first-ever 80's Mullet Night in the Sovereign Center. The first 2,000 fans receive a free mullet upon entering the Sovereign Center. The Royals and Wheeling Nailers meet on Saturday, March 5. The first 2,500 fans receive an ECHL All-Star Jeff Miles action shot courtesy of Diamond Credit Union.
