Nate Shaver Returns to Manage Tourists in 2026
January 28, 2026 - ASHEVILLE, NC - The Houston Astros have announced the Asheville Tourists' coaching staff for the 2026 season, and back at the helm for his sixth year as manager is Nate Shaver.
Last year, Shaver advanced to fourth place on the all-time wins list as a Tourists skipper, notching 270 career victories. Winning 35 games this season would move Shaver into third place, putting him in good company alongside South Atlantic League Hall of Famers Joe Mikulik and Ray Hathaway.

Bush Earns All-Star Recognition
September 18, 2025 - ASHEVILLE, NC - All-Star voting for the South Atlantic League, one of three leagues in the High-A circuit, has concluded. Among the short list of premier ball players who shone during this year's campaign is Will Bush of the Asheville Tourists.
Named an All-Star for the first time in his three-year professional career, Bush spent 73 games with Asheville in 2025. Snot Otters Nominated as Top MiLB Alternate Identity
September 17, 2025 - ASHEVILLE, NC - The Asheville Snot Otters have been nominated as the top Minor League Baseball Alternate Identity of the 2025 season. Online voting is currently underway, and fans can vote as many times as they would like at https://www.milb.com/fans/best-alternate-identity.
Voting ends Sept. 23 at midnight ET, and the winner will be revealed at the third-annual MiLB Awards Show on MLB Network, Sept. 29, at 9 pm ET.

Asheville Closes Season with Loss
September 7, 2025 - BOWLING GREEN, KY - In the final game of the 2025 season, the Asheville Tourists were beaten on Sunday afternoon by the Bowling Green Hot Rods 6-2 at Bowling Green Ballpark.
The Tourists (52-76) finished the campaign dropping the final 12 of 16 games.
After jumping out to a lead in the first inning, the offense sputtered and did not score the rest of the game. Yamal Encarnacion and Jason Schiavone each hit solo homers.
