March 23, 2026 - The Checkers have signed forward Riese Gaber to a one-year, one-way AHL contract, commencing in the 2026-27 season. Gaber, 26, has registered nine goals and 12 assists in 42 games this year with Charlotte. The Gilbert Plains, MB, native has appeared in 56 AHL games in his career, all with the Checkers, posting 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists). Before turning pro, Gaber spent four seasons at the University of North Dakota and was nominated for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award in 2023-24. He w... Full Story

March 22, 2026 - Bloomington, Ill. - Grant Porter increased his goal streak to three-straight games but the Bloomington Bison dropped a 6-4 decision to the Iowa Heartlanders at Grossinger Motors Arena on Sunday evening. The home team ignited its crowd early, getting on the board under two minutes into the game. Nikita Sedov floated in a wrist shot from the blue line from Shane Ott and Lou-Felix Denis for the 1-0 goal. March 22, 2026 - CHARLOTTE, NC - The Checkers capped off their home stand with an exclamation point Sunday afternoon, rolling over Lehigh Valley 6-2. Special teams set the tone for Charlotte, as Mitch Vande Sompel threaded a shot through on a late power play in the first and Brian Pinho cashed in shorthanded less than two minutes later.
