April 8, 2026 - It's an all-Alberta showdown in Round Two of the 2026 WHL Playoffs.
The Central Division rivals from Medicine Hat and Calgary are ready to battle in the postseason for the first time in more than a decade.
Calgary, which finished third in the Central Division, was the first Eastern Conference team to move on to the second round after completing a sweep of the Brandon Wheat Kings on April 2.

April 7, 2026 - Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today the 2025-26 finalists for the Lloyd Saunders Memorial Trophy, presented annually to the WHL's Executive of the Year.
Lloyd Saunders was recognized and honoured for his outstanding contribution to sports, including his continuous support of junior hockey in Western Canada. Saunders was known as the "Dean" of sportscasters in Western Canada, covering everything from the Olympics to the World Series, the Grey Cup to Memorial Cup and more.

The Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy honours the outstanding record and contribution of Dunc McCallum, who coached the Brandon Wheat Kings from 1976 to 1981. McCallum compiled an impressive coaching record over six WHL season going 251-123-41.

April 4, 2026 - Medicine Hat, AB - The Tigers took on the Pats for game five of the first round on Saturday, April 4th in Co-op Place.
Coming into the game with a 3-1 series lead the Tigers were looking for one more win to close out the series and advance to the second round of the 2026 WHL Playoffs.
Tigers players came out to Co-op Place on their feet and their flashlights in the air, showing that Tiger fans were ready to cheer on their team as they chased a series clinching win.
