Experienced Blue Liner Vance Returning to Knoxville

August 28, 2025 - The Knoxville Ice Bears have re-signed experienced defenseman Carson Vance to return to the team for the 2025-26 season. The upcoming year will be Vance's sixth in the SPHL. The 29-year-old Arizona native appeared in 55 games last year during his first season in Knoxville. He set career highs with seven goals and 21 assists for 28 points. He added three assists in six playoff games before an upper body injury in game three of the President's Cup semifinals against Birmingham-his former team-forced him to miss the champion... Ice Bears Return Goaltending Duo for 2025-26 Season

August 25, 2025 - The Knoxville Ice Bears added returning stability in between the pipes for the 2025-26 season, re-signing goaltenders Stephen Mundinger and Hunter Virostek back to the roster. The 6-foot-8 Mundinger, 30, returns for a second season in Knoxville and third year in the SPHL. He appeared in 40 games for the Ice Bears last season, going 18-13-5 with a 2.97 goals against average and .909 save percentage. He also posted three shutouts. Returning Forward Duo Inked for Ice Bears

August 14, 2025 - The Knoxville Ice Bears have re-signed forwards Jason Brancheau and Eric Olson for the 2025-26 season. Both players return for a second season in Knoxville after helping the Ice Bears to an appearance in the President's Cup Finals as rookies back in April. Brancheau, who turns 26 this week, joined Knoxville following a successful collegiate career at NCAA Division 1 Ferris State. He scored 13 goals and added 21 assists for 34 points in 50 games during his rookie pro campaign. Olson, 26, will be in his second pro season... Full Story

SPHL Announces Opponent Changes on Ice Bears Schedule

August 12, 2025 - The SPHL confirmed a schedule change for two days during the regular season schedule, altering the opponent for two Ice Bears home games in February. Knoxville will now host the Pensacola Ice Flyers on Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Civic Coliseum. Originally, the Ice Bears were set to face the Fayetteville Marksmen on each of those days while Pensacola was scheduled to visit the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs that weekend.
