Biloxi Shuckers News Release
MOBILE, AL - Carolina Mudcats' RHP Trey Supak has been promoted to the Biloxi Shuckers in a move announced today by the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday.
Supak has pitched to a 1.76 ERA in nine starts for the Mudcats in 2018. The righty has allowed just ten earned runs in 51 innings while striking out 48 batters. A former Competitive Balance Round B draft selection of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Supak was acquired by the Brewers in a trade, along with Keon Broxton, in exchange for Jason Rogers in December of 2015.
The native Texan split time between Wisconsin and Carolina in 2017, totaling 110 strikeouts in just over 113 innings of work. Ranked as the Number 21 prospect in the Brewers organization, he is added to Biloxi's roster after RHP Adrian Houser was promoted to the Big League club in Milwaukee on Friday afternoon. In addition, RHP Wuilder Rodriguez was transferred to Carolina.
A separate move saw a pair of catchers swapped for each other. Dustin Houle was promoted to Triple-A Colorado Springs for the first time in his seven-year career after appearing in 24 games with the Shuckers. Tyler Heineman has been transferred back to Biloxi after playing in six games with the Sky Sox. Heineman had previously seen action in 22 games with the Shuckers before his promotion.
The Shuckers active roster currently sits at 24 players. Supak is scheduled to start the series finale in Mobile on Sunday afternoon at 2:05 PM CT. The Shuckers then return home to MGM Park for a five-game series against the Mississippi Braves.
