MOBILE, Ala. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, cut a four-run deficit to just one but dropped Friday night's game 6-4 to the Biloxi Shuckers at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Trailing 5-1 in the fourth, Jared Walsh ignited the BayBears (25-22) offense with a two-run double. He has driven in six runs in his first three games with Mobile this season. Zach Gibbons plated Brennon Lund with a sacrifice fly the next inning. After a three-hit game Thursday, Lund recorded two more hits Friday.

Despite pulling within one, the Shuckers (29-19) maintained their lead. Zack Brown (3-0) picked up the win in a five-inning start, and Nate Griep retired the side in order in the ninth for his league-high 16th save.

Joe Gatto (0-1) gave up three runs on five hits, including a Jake Gatewood homer in the third, and issued four walks in his Double-A debut. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings.

The BayBears continue the five-game home series against Biloxi Saturday at 7:05 p.m. CDT. Angels No. 7 prospect Griffin Canning (1-0, 1.95 ERA) is scheduled to make the start.
