Legends Slip in Second Half in Austin

CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Legends (21-25) fell to their in-state rivals, the Austin Spurs (26-19), 93-106 Thursday night on the road.

Chris Douglas-Roberts posted 14 points in the first quarter as the two teams battled for the lead. After seven lead changes and nine ties, the Legends held onto a 33-31 advantage going into the second. The second quarter saw more of the same back-and-forth with eight lead changes and the two teams matched each other's 23 points as the Legends remained up heading into the locker room.

Minutes into the third Austin re-gained the lead and never looked back. After outscoring Texas 32-18 in the third, the Spurs went up by as many as 18 on their way to a playoff-clinching win in front of their home crowd.

Douglas-Roberts paced the Legends with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Patrick Miller added 15 points, 5 assists and Andre Dawkins finished with 14 points off the bench.

Deshaun Thomas and Cady Lalanne each added 21 points for the Spurs while Walter Tavares grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.

The Legends will head to Oklahoma City to take on the Blue at 7pm Friday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Fans can catch all the action live at www.TexLegends.com.
