FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (20-22) split the weekend series with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (22-20) with a 131-114 victory Saturday night.

The Vipers built up a 16-point lead in the first behind 17 points from Raphiael Putney, but the Legends finished the quarter with an 11-2 run to close the gap to 6 at the buzzer. Jarvis Threatt went 5-of-7 for 12 points in the second, but the Legends shot 64% to RGV's 42% and outscored the visitors 41-24. Tu Holloway led the Legends' comeback attempts in the first half with 18 points, 5 assists.

The second quarter burst put the Legends at an 11-point advantage to begin the second half. The Vipers hit a hot streak from beyond the arc in the third shooting 56%. The Legends had extended the lead to 16 with two and a half to play but back to back threes from Denzel Livingston and Cummings set off a Vipers' streak that cut the gap to five points to end the quarter. After struggling from outside in the third, the Legends took to the paint and shot 73% in the final 12 minutes. The largest lead of the night came midway through the fourth (+21) and Texas held RGV to 23 points to end the homestand with a victory.

Holloway led all scorers with 31 points, 11 assists and Micheal Eric added another double-double for the team with 16 points, 11 rebounds. Jamil Wilson grabbed 23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and Patrick Miller added 22 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists off the bench.

The Vipers were powered by Putney (24 points) and Cummings (20 points, 5 rebounds) and Jordan Hamilton added the team's only double-double (14 points, 16 rebounds) off the bench.
