Kernels' Series Finale Cancelled
May 1, 2016 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - Sunday's finale for the Cedar Rapids Kernels and South Bend Cubs at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium was cancelled due to rain. Fans who had a ticket for Sunday's game can visit the Kernels Ticket Office to exchange for a ticket of equal or lesser value to another 2016 Cedar Rapids Kernels regular season home game based on availability.
Because this series between Cedar Rapids and South Bend was the only scheduled series between these teams this season, there will be no makeup contest. The Kernels and Cubs split this rain-shortened two-game set, 1-1.
Coming up, the Kernels start a six-game road trip by visiting the Lansing Lugnuts for a three-game series that opens Monday at 7:05 p.m. ET (6:05 p.m. CT). Probable pitchers, which are subject to change, are Kernels right-hander Cody Stashak (2-0, 1.13 ERA) and Lugnuts southpaw Angel Perdomo (2-0, 2.04 ERA). Listen to all of the exciting Midwest League action with on 1450 KMRY AM and 93.1 KMRY FM and also online at www.kmryradio.com and www.kernels.com.
