Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Erie SeaWolves shutout the Harrisburg Senators 3-0 Tuesday night at UPMC Park. Three Erie pitchers combined to hand the Senators their fifth shutout loss of the season.

Starting pitchers Spencer Turnbull and Brady Dragmire exchanged three scoreless frames until Erie broke through with a run in the fourth when Gabriel Quintana bounced into a run-scoring fielder's choice.

The SeaWolves finished the scoring pair of runs in the fifth on an RBI fielder's choice by Jake Robson and sacrifice fly by Will Maddox to go up 3-0.

Turnbull (1-3) earned the win after tossing six shutout and two-hit innings.

Dragmire (2-2) took the loss despite allowing just three runs, one earned, on eight hits along with three strikeouts and one walk across seven innings. It's the third consecutive start where the right-hander has lasted at least seven innings and the fifth quality start in his last six outings.

The Senators had their best chance to score in the seventh when they loaded the bases with two outs, however reliever Zac Houston induced a pop out by Kelvin Gutierrez to end the threat.

Kyle Dowdy pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth to seal the 3-0 win and notch his first save.

Gutierrez finished 1-3 with a walk to extend his hitting streak to eight games in the loss.

The Senators and SeaWolves play the rubber match of the three-game series Wednesday morning. Jefry Rodriguez takes the hill for the Senators against Erie starter Kyle Funkhouser. First pitch is scheduled for 11:05 a.m. at UPMC Park. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio 95.3 FM, 96.5 FM and 1400 AM or cbssportsharrisburg.com.
