Energy Win over the Westchester Knicks

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (25-23) won 102-87 over the Westchester Knicks (10-38) Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
The Energy were led by Willie Reed with a double-double 32 points and 17 rebounds. Larry Owens added 18 points and 11 rebounds. Durrell Summers led the Knicks with 22 points and three rebounds. All five Energy starters scored in double figures.
Westchester scored the first two baskets before the Energy took the lead over for the rest of the game. Iowa would open up an 18-point lead in the first quarter to hold a 35-22 advantage heading into the second quarter. Iowa continued to control the game in the second quarter behind Reed's 15 first half points. The Energy led 55-45 at halftime.
Iowa continued their dominance in the third quarter, coming out strong after halftime. The Energy went on a 9-0 run in the middle of quarter to open up a 15-point. They held an 81-63 point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Iowa extended their lead to 22 points in the fourth quarter with Reed adding 11 points. Iowa went on to win 102-87 to help keep their playoff hopes alive.
The Energy return home Saturday against the Maine Red Claws at 7 p.m. for MidAmerican Energy GO GREEN night.
