Tyler Gron Gets First AHL Call-Up, Heads to Worcester

SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today that Tyler Gron has signed a two-way AHL-ECHL contract with the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League. In addition, Mark Lee has been suspended by the team and has signed a tryout agreement with the Schwenninger Wild Wings of the German Elite League.

Gron, 24, is in his second full season of professional hockey. He is second in the ECHL with 17 goals and leads the Bulls with 29 points in 31 games. Gron was named the ECHL Runner-Up Player of the Month for December of this season. In his first season with the Idaho Steelheads in 2012-13, he produced 32 points (21 goals, 11 assists) in 34 games. The Spruce Grove, Alberta native also had 35 points in 31 games with the Bloomington Blaze of the CHL in 2012-13. Gron has played in three games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. Two out of the four seasons he played with Northern Michigan University, he led the team in points.

Lee, 29, has totaled 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in 17 games with the Bulls this season. He returns to Europe after spending time in Denmark and Finland.

The Bulls return home this week to take on the Alaska Aces for three games. Thursday is the first Thirsty Thursday of the season, where 12-ounce draft domestic beers are half off at select concessions. Friday marks Scout Night at the Cow Palace. On Saturday, LGBT Night returns. The Bulls players were don LGBT Specialty Jerseys that will be auctioned off silently and live during and after the game. A portion of the proceeds from the auction and tickets purchased through this link will go towards SF Pride. The puck drops at 7:30 pm for each night.
