Looking Back

Dec. 30, Amway Center, Orlando 4, Florida 3 - The Blades built up leads of 2-0 and 3-2 on two goals by Brandon MacLean and a PPG from Mathieu Roy, but the Solar Bears erupted for four goals in the final 30 minutes of action to rally past the Blades.

Jan. 3, Bon Secours Wellness Arena, Florida 3, Greenville 2 (OT) - Greenville struck twice in the final minute of the first period to claim a 2-0 lead they would enjoy into the third, but goals by Olivier Dame-Malka and Mathieu Roy would force overtime, where Mike Little tallied the game-winner 32 seconds into the extra frame.

Jan. 4, The Arena at Gwinnett Center, Gwinnett 8, Florida 1 - The Gladiators exploded for rallies of three and five straight goals wrapped around a lone marker from Florida's Will MacDonald, dealing the Blades their largest margin of defeat on the season at 8-1.

Player Notes

- Brandon MacLean scored twice in Monday's loss at Orlando and was then loaned to the Rochester Americans of the AHL.

- Former first-round NHL draft pick Riku Helenius was assigned to the Blades on New Years Eve.

- With 26 points (14g, 12a) this season, Mathieu Roy is now alone in third place on the Blades' all-time points list with 262--placing him 57 shy of Reggie Berg's all-time franchise mark of 319.

Team Notes

- With MacLean's departure to Rochester, the Blades have now had 14 players called up or loaned to AHL clubs in 2013-14 alone.

- Despite a 1-2-0-0 week on the road, Florida is still an astonishing 16-5-0-0 away from Germain Arena.

- The Everblades are 4-2-0-0 when trailing after two periods on the road.

- January 10-18, the Blades will play four home contests against South Carolina and Orlando--their longest homestand so far this season and the first time they'll have back-to-back home weekends in 2013-14.
