York Revolution News Release

The York Revolution came back from a pair of three-run deficits to defeat the Somerset Patriots 11-9 at rain-soaked Sovereign Bank Stadium on Tuesday evening. The Revs will host the Patriots again each of the next two nights, wrapping up a season-long 10-game homestand.

Wilson Batista went 4-for-5 with four RBI, starting at designated hitter after Johan Limonta signed with the San Diego Padres earlier in the day. Batista paced a relentless Revs offense that pounded a season-high 18 hits.

The Revs not only came back from a pair of three-run deficits, but from a total of three separate deficits in the game for their seventh comeback win of the year, and fourth on the homestand.

Mike Wilson spotted Somerset a 1-0 lead in the second with a long home run to left-center, his first of two on the night.

The Revs answered with an unearned run in the bottom of the second on Batista's first hit of the night, a bloop RBI single along the right field line, tying the score at 1-1.

Jake Fox cracked a two-run homer to left in the top of the third, pushing the Patriots back ahead at 3-1. It was his league-leading seventh long ball on the season.

York took its first lead with a two-out rally in the bottom of the third. Five consecutive singles led to three runs, with Andy Gonzalez driving in a run on a hit up the middle, and Batista lashing a two-run single to left, lifting the Revs ahead at 4-3.

Somerset responded with a four-spot in the fourth, taking a 7-4 lead. Adam Donachie drove an RBI double off the Arch Nemesis to tie the game, and Aharon Eggleston followed with a two-run single to left-center. Bobby Stevens then reached on an infield hit, with the fourth run scoring on a throwing error by second baseman Andres Perez, trying to make the difficult play.

Perez redeemed himself at the plate with a two-run double down the third base line in the bottom of the fourth inning, as the Revs were right back within a run at 7-6.

Delayed by 16 minutes due to rain at the outset, the game was again delayed by rain for 42 minutes between the fourth and fifth innings, and when play resumed, Wilson launched a two-run homer to left-center, just beyond the reach of a leaping Jason Repko, extending Somerset's lead to 9-6. Reliever Yunior Novoa (2-0) settled in, however, and teamed with two other relievers to keep the Patriots scoreless the rest of the way.

The Revs retook the lead for good with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, leaping in front 10-9. Andy Marte drove in the first run on a sac fly for his league-leading 18th RBI. A second run came across on a wild pitch by reliever Brandon Braboy (1-1). Batista followed with an RBI single to left-center tying the game, while the go-ahead run came across on an error by second baseman Jonny Tucker.

The Revs added an insurance run in the eighth when Batista doubled to left with two outs, and scored on a single by Salvador Paniagua.

Julio DePaula worked two scoreless innings following Novoa out of the Revs' bullpen, including the seventh inning when he worked out of a first-and-second, no-out jam. Stephen Penney fired a scoreless ninth for his second save.

The Revs' win snaps Somerset's five-game winning streak.

York will send Nick Green (1-0, 3.38) to the mound on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. against Mitch Atkins (3-0, 2.81). Tickets are available at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS, and in-person at the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.
