Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release
On Wednesday night the Skeeters franchise record nine game winning streak came to an end in a 7-6 eleven inning loss. The Skeeters scored three times in the second inning, highlighted by a Koby Clemens two-run homer and a Fernando Perez RBI triple, to put Sugar Land in front early 3-0.
The Bluecrabs added a run in the sixth to make it 3-1 and it looked liked Sugar Land was headed for their tenth straight win, but a five run eighth gave Southern Maryland a 6-3 lead and then the game was delayed for over an hour and half. The Skeeters made it count as they rallied for three in the ninth, only to lose in the bottom of the eleven by a final score of 7-6.
Up Next: In Game 3 of this four game set, in an early morning affair at 10:35am, the Skeeters send out former Astro RHP Scott Elarton (1-1, 4.76) vs. LHP Jeremy Sowers (1-1, 5.40) for the Blue Crabs.
