The Akron Aeros are proud to announce that the club has agreed to a partnership with Rita's Italian Ice and will be selling the famous frozen treats all season at Canal Park.

Originally founded in 1984, Rita's ( http://www.ritasice.com/) is a Pennsylvania-based company best known for its Italian ice, frozen custard, and gelati. With more than 500 locations in 20 states, Rita's has enjoyed sustained success and continues to be a driving force in the frozen treat industry-- a force that the Aeros are excited to be partnered with for this season.

"The Aeros' 2013 theme is 'It's a Whole New Ballgame' and we are thrilled to be a part of the excitement this season," said Stephan Linek, owner of Rita's of Cuyahoga Falls. "I believe the Aeros' championship lineup and Rita's lineup of great Italian ice flavors will both be winners with the fans."

"Rita's product speaks for itself. Our fans will be thrilled to have the opportunity to sample their famous Italian Ice at all 71 games this season at Canal Park. We could not be more excited about this partnership," said Aeros General manager Jim Pfander.

Fans can check the new Rita's stand at Canal Park, located behind sections 103 and 105.

The Aeros are the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. In the 2012 season, the Aeros won the Eastern League Championship for the fourth time in team history. The team begins its 17th season in Akron on April 4, 2013, with a 6:35 pm game against the Binghamton Mets at Canal Park.
