Chesapeake Baysox News Release
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today the dates for a series of 2013 1K Beer Runs at Prince George's Stadium. The first beer run will be held Saturday, May 25 before a game against the Trenton Thunder at 6:35 p.m. The second beer run will be held Sunday, June 23 before a game against the Altoona Curve at 2:05 p.m.
Each run will take place along the warning track before the scheduled game and will include three beers, one for each lap around the track. The event will begin at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 25 and at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 23.
Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye helped plan the event. "The 1K Beer Run was such a popular event last season that we decided to hold two of them this year," Wrye said. "There is no better way to start off a fun afternoon of baseball than getting some exercise and a few drinks down on the field before the game."
Each participant will make three laps around the warning track circling the field at Prince George's Stadium, receiving a 12 oz. beer at the end of each lap to drink while completing the next lap. After completing the three laps, participants get tickets for some of the best seats in the stadium.
The ticket package includes a Box Seat ticket for the game, three 12 oz. beer tickets to be redeemed during the race and access to the field for the 1K Beer Run. The event will be limited to the first 100 individuals to purchase tickets. Tickets are $18 and must be ordered by 5:00 p.m. two days prior to the event. All participants must at least 21 years of age by the event date and have a valid, government issued photo I.D. to present on the event date. Tickets can be ordered by visiting www.baysoxshop.com.
Baysox Baseball - We'll Knock Your 'Sox Off. The Baysox 2013 season and 20th season of baseball at Prince George's Stadium is underway. Parking is free at every Baysox home game and tickets are available at www.baysox.com, or by calling the Baysox box office at (301) 464-4865.
