Week in Review:

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013 vs. Everett Silvertips - 4-3 Win

The Blazers fired 69 shots on goal and won the game on Cole Ully's overtime penalty shot goal for a 4-3 final. The Blazers fired 29, 21, and 18 shots in the three periods for a season high in shots on goal. Cole Ully scored twice for the Blazers as Tim Bozon and JC Lipon each had a goal and an assist and Colin Smith finished with two assists. Cole Cheveldave earned the win in goal with 18 saves.

Friday, January 25th, 2013 vs. Prince Albert Raiders - 4-1 Win

The Blazers solid in front of a sold-out crowd of 5,464 that got to watch Scott Niedermayer's #28 retired. Colin Smith had two goals and an assist while JC Lipon and Tim Bozon each had two point nights for the Blazers. Cole Cheveldave was solid between the pipes 28 saves in goal. Prince Albert was 0-for-6 on the power play and the Blazers were 0-for-4 on the night.

Scott Niedermayer Retirement Night Friday, January 25th

The Kamloops Blazers and the WHL honoured hockey legend Scott Niedermayer this past Friday, January 25th. Scott had his #28 retired by the Blazers in a 30-minute pre-game ceremony.

Special guests included Scott's former General Manager in Anaheim Brian Burke, former Kamloops Blazers General Manager Bob Brown, WHL Commissioner Ron Robison, and two members of the Blazers ownership group Tom Gaglardi and Mark Recchi.

Scott also received the WHL Alumni Award from Commissioner Ron Robison.

Scott Niedermayer Vintage #28 Jerseys Available

The Blazers have made a select number of these jerseys available via a blind auction. Only 40 of these authentic jerseys were made and 10 were auctioned off at the game this past Friday, January 25th.

This week, there will be 10 more jerseys made available. Fans have the opportunity to bid at games on Monday, January 28th and Friday, February 1st. For those unable to attend games or from out of town, you can send in your bid via email niedermayerjerseys@gmail.com . The top 10 bids will be selected for a jersey. Minimum bid is $350.

Blazers Honourable Mentions in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10

The Blazers are dropped to honour mentions in the latest BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 with a 32-14-2-3 record. The hockey club had been in the rankings for virtually the entire season until last week.
