Ontario Reign News Release

LOVELAND, CO - The Ontario Reign (30-10-1-2), defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, earned a 3-1 win over the Colorado Eagles (20-19-1-2) at the Budweiser Event Center Friday night before a crowd of 5,289.

CJ Stretch got Ontario on the board with a power-play goal at 13:41 of the first period. Cameron Burt crushed a shot toward the net from the blue line and Stretch took advantage of the rebound as he sent the puck into the open left side of the cage from the between the circles.

The only goal in the second frame belonged to the Eagles' Colin Bowman who tied the game at a goal apiece on the power-play at 15:16.

Derek Couture, playing in his first game back from an AHL assignment with the Houston Aeros, regained the lead for Ontario at 5:47 of the third period as he converted Mario Lamoureux's cross-ice feed to give the Reign a 2-1 lead. Couture added an insurance goal at 16:25. The Reign captain had his first shot rejected, but forced both the puck and the pad of goaltender Adam Brown just far across the goal line to light the lamp and send Eagles fans to the exits.

JF Berube was in great form, stopping 25 of the Eagles' 26 shots for his fourth consecutive win.
