Former Tiger Shuts Down 'Wolves

Erie SeaWolves News Release
The Erie SeaWolves were hoping a return to Erie would break a four game losing streak. Unfortunately, they ran into a career night from Harrisburg pitcher Ryan Perry. The right hander tossed his first complete game and held the SeaWolves to just one run as the 'Wolves fell 6-1.
The SeaWolves' Jared Gayhart struggled early and allowed the Senators on the board first. Jimmy Van Ostrand doubled to lead off the second and came around to score on Tim Pahuta's two out double. The Senators continued to hit Garhart in the third with Jose Lozada singling and reaching third when Justin Bloxom doubled.
Van Ostrand would drive them both home on his second double to put Harrisburg up 3-0. The inning would end when Destin' Hoods single into right allowed Van Ostrand to make a play at home. Nick Castellanos' throwing error allowed him to score and the Senators were up 4-0. Harrisburg added one more in the fourth when Jose Lozada's sac fly scored Pahuta.
Erie would get their lone run in the bottom half of the fourth. Nick Castellanos took the first pitch he saw over the right field fence. It was Castellanos' first homerun since July 17, but that was the last time Erie would cross the plate. The Senators added one more insurance run in the seventh when Seth Bynum singled off the glove of Kenny Faulk, which scored Anthony Rendon from third.
Gayhart would be credited with the loss after just three innings of work, while David Kopp, Kenny Faulk, and Tyler Clark would combine to finish the final six innings of work.
The SeaWolves continue their series against Harrisburg tomorrow at 7:05 with post game fireworks presented by Rebich Investments.
