
Fort Wayne Shuts out Lake County 4-0 in Six Innings

Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains (5-5, 36-43) fell to the Fort Wayne TinCaps (7-3, 38-42) in a rain shortened six inning game. The final score was 4-0. Fort Wayne used a three run top of the sixth inning, where Jace Peterson walked to begin the inning and then Mike Gallic singled him to third and Yeison Asencio hit a sacrifice fly to make the score 2-0. The next hitter Travis Whitmore hit a homerun to right field and the score was 4-0 Fort Wayne.
The TinCaps got on the board first in the top of the third inning when Tyler Stubblefield singled and eventually scored on a ground out by Jace Peterson, and the TinCaps led the game 1-0. The Captains just got two hits in the ball game, both of the hits were singles one came from Patric Tolentino and the other was off the bat of Jerrud Sabourin.
LHP Shawn Morimando (2-2) took to the mound for Lake County, and took the loss. Morimando pitched six innings five hits, four runs, three earned runs, three walks and surrendered one homerun.
RHP Matt Wisler (2-4) took the mound for Fort Wayne and earned the win. He allowed two hits, and struck out six. Wisler got credit for a six inning shutout.
Monday is a Faith Night, presented by 95.5 FM the FISH. There will be a pre-game concert featuring Journey Worship beginning at 5:45 PM and a post-game Testimony of Faith provided by Captains outfielder Jordan Smith. Lake County will start RHP Mason Radeke (5-1, 2.96) to the mound and he will be opposed by RHP Cody Hebner (6-3, 4.13) for Fort Wayne.
