Reminder: Southern Independent Baseball to Hold In-Season Tryout

June 27, 2012 - American Association (AA) Grand Prairie AirHogs

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -- Southern Independent Baseball, the parent company of the Grand Prairie AirHogs and Amarillo Sox, will be hosting an open tryout sponsored by D-BAT Wood Bat Company on Friday, June 29 at QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie.

The tryout begins at 10 a.m. with registration at 9 a.m. Managers and coaches from both the AirHogs and Sox will be in attendance, with local scouts from MLB teams in attendance.

Registration is $100 per player, and includes an authentic AirHogs cap. Players are responsible for their own gear.

The 2011 American Association Champion Grand Prairie AirHogs conclude their three-game series against the Worcester Tornadoes, on Wednesday, June 27, at 12:05 p.m. The next home game at QuikTrip Park is Friday, June 29, at 7:05 p.m. against the Amarillo Sox. That night is QuikTrip Night, with free ticket vouchers available at local QuikTrip stores. All games are aired live and for free on Ustream by clicking on the link on the AirHogs' home page or visiting http://www.ustream.tv/channel/airhogs-baseball with selected contests aired on Time Warner Cable's Texas Channel.
