Today's Game-- The RedHawks finish their brief four-game homestand needing a win to earn a series split when they face Omaha at 11:05 a.m. Armando Galarraga makes his first home start since joining the team.
Last Night-- The Storm Chasers continued to use the long ball against the RedHawks, leading to a 7-4 win. Anthony Seratelli went deep in each of his first two at-bats, and after four innings, Omaha led 4-0. The RedHawks got back in the game thanks to a two-run double by Brett Wallace in the bottom of the fourth, making it 4-2. Omaha's Nate Adcock (4-2) didn't let the RedHawks get any closer. He pitched six innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out three. Omaha scored three more in the ninth, including a two-run homer by Clint Robinson. Scott Moore and Mike Hessman hit solo home runs to start the ninth, but Tommy Hottovy was able to get out of the inning for his seventh save of the year. RedHawks starter Brian Bass (1-2) went a season-high eight innings, giving up four runs on nine hits and three walks. He retired 10 of the last 11 hitters he faced.
Today's Probable Pitchers-- Armando Galarraga makes his first start at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark since joining the RedHawks a couple weeks ago...In his last start Thursday in Nashville, Galarraga had to exit after just one inning with a minor hamstring injury...Through his first 10.2 innings, Galarraga has allowed only two runs and six hits...Opponents are hitting .158 against him overall and have yet to register a hit with a runner in scoring position...Galarraga was with Baltimore during Spring Training and signed with the Astros on May 21...In parts of five seasons in the Major Leagues, Galarraga is 26-30 with a 4.69 ERA...He made four starts for the RedHawks when the team was affiliated with Texas in 2007 (2-2, 4.74) and today will be his first start in OKC since August 30, 2007...Omaha's Will Smith makes his first appearance in 10 days...His last game was June 16 when he took a loss after allowing four runs and eight hits over five innings in Nashville...Smith has just one win in 11 starts this year with Omaha...He also has made three starts for Kansas City, going 1-2, with a 9.00 ERA...Smith notched his first Major League win May 29 in Cleveland...The RedHawks faced the lefty on May 6 in Omaha, and Smith allowed five runs, nine hits, and four walks over 5.2 innings (ND).
Rise & Shine-- The RedHawks are 2-3 in games that start before noon this season, including a 1-1 mark at home.
Standings Stumble-- With last night's loss to Omaha and Albuquerque's win over Nashville, the RedHawks have fallen out of first place for the first time since May 30. Their largest lead in the standings was 4.5 games.
Offensive Ebb and Flow-- In the RedHawks' last seven wins, they have scored 64 runs (9.1 rpg). In their last eight losses, they have scored just 14 runs (1.75 rpg). Until last night, the RedHawks had not scored at least four runs in their previous seven defeats.
Close Calls-- Six of the RedHawks' last seven losses have been by three runs or less. Five have been by two runs or less, and three have been by just a single run.
Bombs Away-- Last night the RedHawks hit back-to-back homers for the second time this season, courtesy of Scott Moore and Mike Hessman. The two dingers expanded the team's home run total to 89 this season. They hit 88 homers in all of 2011--dead last in the PCL and 32 less than anyone else. Last season, only three players hit eight or more homers. This season, five players have already reached that mark, with four in double digits.
Moore Offense-- Scott Moore is currently on a season-best eight-game hitting streak, during which he is hitting .385 (10x26). His average has not been below .306 since April 7. He has already surpassed his home run (nine) and RBI (53) totals from 2011.
Fabulous Fernando-- During his current rehab assignment, Fernando Martinez has gone 8-for-14 with two RBIs. At the time of his promotion to the Astros on June 2, Martinez was hitting .319 with eight homers and a team-leading 38 RBIs.

Solo Acts-- The RedHawks have allowed at least one home run in nine straight games, a new season-high streak. They had allowed 11 straight solo homers until Anthony Seratelli's two-run shot in the second inning.
All or Nothing-- Omaha's Anthony Seratelli is now 5-for-27 against the RedHawks this season. All five hits have been home runs.
Against the Storm Chasers-- Omaha has won six of seven games this season as well as eight of their last nine in OKC...The Storm Chasers swept a four-game set in Omaha, May 4-7, marking the only time the RedHawks have been swept this season...Twice the RedHawks trailed in the ninth inning only to tie the game or take the lead, but each time the Storm Chasers won with a walk-off homer...Omaha's Derrick Robinson is now 13-for-27 against the RedHawks and has been on base in 18 of 33 plate appearances...Scott Moore has tallied four of his 10 homers for the season against the Storm Chasers.
