Round Rock Express News Release
ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express begin a seven-game home stand Wednesday, opening a three-game series against the Nashville Sounds (Milwaukee Brewers). The series continues Thursday and Friday first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT each night. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Flex Plans, group tickets and party areas still are available for the 2012 season; contact The Dell Diamond ticket office at 512.255.2255 for more information, or log on to www.RoundRockExpress.com.
Texas Rangers left-hander Derek Holland is scheduled to make a 50-pitch rehab start with the Express in Wednesday's series opener. Holland is 5-4 with a 5.10 ERA and 59 strikeouts with the Rangers this season. He was placed on the disabled list following his June 5 start at Oakland. Coincidentally, Holland's last Triple-A start was Aug. 23, 2010, at The Dell Diamond with then-Rangers-affiliated Oklahoma City.
The home stand, which continues through July 3, includes the Budweiser "Red, White and Blue Salute". Round Rock Express Baseball and Budweiser are teaming up to salute all branches of the military and their many veterans. Austin's Brown Distributing Company is working with the Folds of Honor Foundation to salute troops and raise funds to benefit military families in Central Texas. The weeklong salute concludes with the season's largest postgame fireworks display July 3 as the Express host New Orleans at 7:05 p.m.
The Nashville series opener is a Winning Wednesday, presented by the Texas Lottery, with game-show oriented contests for prizes between innings. Thursday is the Original Thirsty Thursday, presented by Firetrol Protection Systems, with reduced beer and soda prices. The series concludes with Bud Light Friday Fireworks.
Express games are broadcast on The Horn 104.9 FM ESPN Austin and steamed live online at www.espnaustin.com.
