
Smith, Storm Chasers Take Series, 5-1

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Omaha Storm Chasers' (49-30) starting rotation continued its dominance over the Oklahoma City RedHawks (44-34) winning 5-1 in front of 7,954 on Tuesday afternoon at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
In winning the series finale, the Storm Chasers won the series, 3-1, and now lead the season series, 7-1.
Will Smith (2-4) pitched a strong 7.2 innings, giving up an unearned run on five hits while striking out seven. In the four games, Omaha starters gave up only five earned runs.
Omaha's Anthony Seratelli continued his outstanding series with a triple down the right field line to leadoff the game. Seratelli scored on a sacrifice fly by Johnny Giavotella to give the Storm Chasers a 1-0 lead.
Omaha started the fifth inning with a walk followed by an RBI double from Kevin Kouzmanoff making it 2-0. RedHawks' starter Armando Galarraga was able to get out of the inning without any more damage.
Galarraga (1-1) pitched six solid innings in his first start at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark since August 30, 2007, when Galarraga was in the Texas Rangers farm system. Galarraga gave up two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three.
The Storm Chasers added to their lead in the eighth, scoring three runs on five consecutive hits off Jose Valdez.
The RedHawks scored their first run of the game on a fielding error in the bottom of the eighth.
The RedHawks threatened again in the ninth with runners on second and third with one out. Omaha's Brandon Sisk struck out Brad Snyder and Jordan Kreke each looking to end the threat and the game.
RedHawks third baseman Brett Wallace went 3-for-4 in the loss.
Oklahoma City hits the road for a three-game series against the Iowa Cubs starting Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. The RedHawks return to Bricktown on Saturday for a four-game series with the Memphis Redbirds.
