DAVENPORT, Iowa (JUNE 4, 2012) - After scoring just three runs in the first two games of the series, the Quad Cities offense scored five times in the bottom of the second inning, via three walks and two base hits, and left-hander Kyle Hald allowed just one earned run in the River Bandits' first complete game of 2012, giving Quad Cities a 6-2 win in the Monday night rubber match with the Burlington Bees at Modern Woodmen Park.

Quad Cities (29-29) drew three walks in their first five at-bats in the second inning. Tyler Rahmatulla, Juan Castillo and Virgil Hill all reached base via base-on-balls. With two outs and the bases loaded, shortstop Matt Williams drove in the first run of the night on a fielder's choice. Luis Mateo and Nick Martini then hit back-to-back doubles with two outs to make it 5-0. Martini was thrown out trying to advance to third on the base hit to end the inning.

Kyle Hald (2-3) turned in his second consecutive seven-plus inning start, a complete game in which he gave up two runs, one of which was earned and allowed just three base hits, walking none and striking out six. From the top of the fourth to the top of the eighth, the left-hander retired 12 consecutive Burlington hitters.

Burlington (26-31) scored their first run in the top of the fourth inning. Right-fielder Bobby Crocker led off the inning with a double and advanced on a wild pitch by Hald. He scored later in the inning when Burlington first baseman Douglas Landaeta grounded out to shortstop Matt Williams.

Right-handed reliever Max Perlman came on in the sixth in relief of Burlington starter Seth Frankoff (2-3), who lasted five innings and allowed five earned runs on three hits, while issuing a season-high five walks and striking out five. Perlman struck out the first four batters he faced and worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh.

The River Bandits added one more run in the bottom of the eighth when Virgil Hill hit a sacrifice fly to right field off reliever David Mota that scored Castillo from third, after he had doubled to lead off the inning. Burlington answered back with an unearned run in the top of the ninth after shortstop Sean Jamieson reached third on an error to lead off the inning, and later scored on a groundout. Hald retired the three batters following the triple in order to complete the first Quad Cities' complete game since September 10, 2011 - thrown by Trevor Rosenthal.
