Chesapeake Baysox News Release
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today a partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cureé on a special Pink in the Park event Saturday, June 2, at Prince George's Stadium as the team takes on the Reading Phillies at 6:35 p.m. The event raises money for the global breast cancer organization through a special jersey auction.
For the June 2 game, the Baysox players and coaches will don special pink jerseys to recognize the fight against breast cancer. During the game, the team will hold a jersey auction for fans to collect the special limited edition jerseys, with the proceeds of the auction benefitting Susan G. Komen for the Cureé and local Affiliates.
The Baysox are also offering a special ticket package for the Pink in the Park event. From now through Friday, June 1, every regular price $15 box seat ticket purchased on www.baysox.com for the game Saturday, June 2 using the special offer code KOMEN, $5 will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cureé.
Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye helped plan the event. "Susan G. Komen for the Cureé is a great organization and we are proud to help support them," Wrye said. "The limited edition game-used pink jersey auction is a great way to get a Baysox collectors item and also support the battle against breast cancer."
"We are thrilled to be partnering with the Bowie Baysox for the Pink in the Park Day on Saturday, June 2," said Komen Maryland CEO, Robin Prothro. "Partnerships like this are instrumental in raising awareness and funds for breast cancer programs that help women, men and families throughout Maryland who are affected by this disease and funding research that bring us closer to our vision of a world without breast cancer."
Susan G. Komen for the Cure'sé promise is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. For more information, please visit www.komen.org or call 1-877 GO KOMEN.
