SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Round Rock took an 9-4 lead into the eighth inning but the bullpen could not hold as Salt Lake scored six runs in the final two innings and the Express fell to the Bees 10-9 in Wednesday night's Pacific Coast League action at Spring Mobile Ballpark. The Bees' (16-18) Andrew Romine knocked in the game-winning run on a single with two-outs in the ninth to cap a five-run inning. The Express (17-17) had their three-game winning streak snapped.

Leading 9-4 heading into the bottom the eighth inning, Round Rock turned to Mark Hamburger to help shut the door on the Bees. After a Luis Jimenez fly out, Ryan Langerhans walked and advanced to second on a Robbie Diaz groundout. Paul McAnulty followed with an RBI-single to make it 9-5 E-Train. Hamburger began the ninth but was unable to record an out. He allowed consecutive doubles to Matt Long and Kevin Calhoun to make it 9-5 Express. Hamburger's night needed after a four-pitch walk to Efren Navarro.

The Express then turned to closer Tanner Scheppers with a three-run lead and runners on first and second. The first batter he faced, Luis Jimenez, deposited a full-count offering into the stands in left field to tie the game 9-9. Three batters later, McAnulty smacked a doubled to left field and former E-Train outfielder Doug Deeds followed with a walk. Then came Romine who turned around a 1-0 fastball and sent it into left field out of the reach of Ryan Spilborghs to drive in pinch runner Ed Lucas for a 10-9 Bees victory.

Kevin Jepsen (1-1) picked up the win for Salt Lake. He pitched a scoreless ninth and stuck out a pair to keep his team in a position to pounce. He was the sixth Bees pitcher on a night where starter Garrett Richards only lasted two innings.

Scheppers (0-2) blew the save and earned the loss for Round Rock. He allowed two runs on three hits and a walk and let two inherited runners score. Express starter Greg Reynolds picked up a no-decision after he allowed just three runs in five and one-third innings.

McAnulty finished the night with three hits. Jimenez had a pair of hits and three RBI. Romine went 2-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored.

Joey Butler led the way for the Express with three hits, a home run, five RBI and seven total bases. Three other Express hitters had multi-hit efforts including Yangervis Solarte who extended his franchise record hitting streak to 20 games with a first inning single.

Round Rock and Salt Lake continue their four-game series Thursday with a 7:35 p.m. CDT first pitch at Spring Mobile Ballpark. Left-hander Zach Jackson (1-2 4.11 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Express, while right-hander Eric Hurley (2-3, 9.00 ERA) is slated for the Bees.
