
Aces Cruise to Sixth-Straight Win and First Place

MEMPHIS, Tenn.-Josh Bell homered and drove in five runs Wednesday afternoon, lifting the Reno Aces to an 8-3 victory over the Memphis Redbirds at AutoZone Park.
Bell hit a three-run home run in the first inning, and the Aces never looked back, winning their sixth-straight game and 11th over the last 14 contests. With the victory, Reno moved into first place in the Pacific North Division.
Aces starter Zach Kroenke (3-1) exited with two outs in the eighth inning, having scattered two runs on seven hits with a walk and a strikeout. Sam Demel recorded the game's final four outs to collect the save and preserve the victory.
The loss fell to Memphis starter Joe Kelly (1-3), who surrendered five runs-two earned-on four hits over five frames.
At the dish for Reno, Bell led the way with three hits, a run scored and his second 5-RBI game of the season. Jake Elmore drove in two runs, while Cole Gillespie added two hits. Adam Eaton scored three runs for the Aces.
The Aces and Redbirds will hook-up again on Thursday night from AutoZone Park. RHP Chris Jakubauskas (1-3, 5.06 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while RHP Shelby Miller (3-2, 4.45 ERA) counters for Memphis.
