 Tulsa Oilers

Third Period Surge Not Enough in 3-2 Loss to Allen

February 3, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release

TULSA, OK - It took the Oilers two and a half periods to find their offense and despite a strong push in the third period, Tulsa ran out of time in a 3-2 loss to the Allen Americans on Friday night in front of 4,079 at the Allen Event Center.

The Americans built a 3-0 lead through forty minutes thanks to a pair of goals from Colton Yellow Horn and a marker from Jason Dietsch.

Tulsa, which had mustered only 11 shots on goal entering the final frame, got on the board when Michel Beausoleil blasted a shot past Rejean Beauchemin on an Oilers powerplay at the 6:04 mark of the third. The goal was Beausoleil's fourth in the last three games. The Oilers struck again moments later after David Solway's shot deflected off the skate of Gerome Giudice and over the shoulder of Beauchemin.

The Americans held on over the final 12 minutes to pick up their second win of the season over the Oilers. Tulsa had its six-game point streak snapped and failed to earn a point for the first time in its last five road outings.

The two Berry Conference rivals will face off again tomorrow night in the final regular season meeting of the season.
