Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that INF Wes Hatton has been assigned to the Orem Owlz of the Pioneer League. Abe Flores, Director of Player Development for the LA Angels, announced the move on Thursday.
Hatton played in 73 games for the Kernels, batting .201 with four HR, 36 RBI and seven triples, which was second in the MWL.
The Angels have not announced a corresponding transaction so with today's move, the Kernels roster stands at 24 active players, one short of the MWL maximum of 25, with two players currently on the disabled list.
The Kernels continue a six game home stand tonight against Bowling Green at 6:35 pm. It's a 100.7 The Fox Thirsty Thursday where fans can get 12 oz. draft beer for $1.50 and bottled soda and water for just $2. Gates open at 5:30 pm.
