Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - After several weeks of submitting promotional ideas, and then a week of voting, the fans have spoken and determined a winner for the "My Lookouts Promotion" contest. And the winner is drum roll : Lookouts Survivor!

Lookouts Survivor, which was submitted by Lookouts fan James Harrison, will be the featured promotion for the regular season finale on September 5th. During each game leading up to September 5th, fans will have the opportunity to sign up at AT&T Field to become a contestant on "Lookouts Survivor." At each game, 10 contestants will be selected and given two general admission tickets to the September 5th game. During the early innings, the Lookouts will draw 10 finalists (and alternatives if any of the 10 finalists drawn are not present) from the list of contestants. Once the 10 finalists have been selected, they will engage in a series of contests in which a person is eliminated until one person is left standing and deemed the winner. The winner will receive a grand prize, while the other finalists will also receive prizes.

Harrison will receive a skyboy rental for the game, an opportunity to throw out a first pitch for the game, and an autographed team baseball for his fan-favorite submission.

"It's been a dream season with the Chattanooga Lookouts. We can't think of a better way to bring it to an end, save for a Southern League Championship. Hats off to the players, Coach Subero, Looie, and the great fans of AT&T Field for making our dreams realities. We hope Survivor Night is a huge hit," said an excited Harrison.

Additionally, the Lookouts have decided to make the regular season finale an even bigger and more fun event for fans by also implementing Michael Smith's second place idea: "Lookouts Raffle Drawing." Fans will have the opportunity to fill out and submit their names in a drawing that will take place throughout the game. Each inning, one lucky fan will be selected and win a prize. Possible prizes could include: autographed items, merchandise, and ticket packages.

Smith will receive four lower box seats, a first pitch opportunity, and a team autographed baseball for his second place finish.

Third place winner Bill Stephens made an interesting late run with his "Lookouts (Don't) Got Talent" idea, garnering over 100 votes in the final 24 hours of the poll. He will receive four lower box seats and an opportunity to throw out a first pitch for his efforts.

William Crete's idea, "LOOK-alike Contest," received the dubious honor of finishing in last place with only five votes. As such, he will be throwing out the "last pitch" of the September 5th game, which will occur immediately following the conclusion of the 2:15 PM scheduled contest. "I guess it's an honor to have submitted the worst idea in this poll. I'm definitely pumped up about having the opportunity to throw out the 'last pitch,'" commented Crete.

Additionally, next week, the Lookouts will announce a special composite promotion, consisting of several of the finalists' ideas, to be used for another home game this season.

The "My Lookouts Promotion" contest began with fans submitting well over 100 promotional ideas to the Lookouts via facebook, at AT&T Field, and the Nick Bonsanto Show on ESPN Radio 105.1. The Lookouts staff then whittled down the field of submissions to ten finalists, and fans submitted their votes on facebook to determine the winner.

Final Poll Results:

1) Lookouts Survivor : 153 votes

2) Lookouts Raffle Drawing: 120 votes

3) Lookouts (Don't) Got Talent: 115 votes
