MOBILE, Ala. - Ed Easley flashed a career-high six runs batted in as the BayBears ripped the Mississippi Braves, 14-8, on Friday night at Hank Aaron Stadium to claim their seventh straight win and their 11th victory in the last 12 ballgames.

Adam Eaton started the ball rolling for the BayBears (50-36, 12-4) as he was hit by a pitch to lead off the bottom of the first against starter Paul Clemens (6-5). A.J. Pollock doubled Eaton to third while Paul Goldschmidt singled Eaton to the plate, putting the BayBears on top.

Ryan Wheeler followed with a double off the wall in left to drive home Pollock, giving the BayBears a two-run cushion. Clemens rebounded to strikeout Taylor Harbin but walked Marc Krauss with first base open. Three pitches later, Easley laced a 2-1 fastball over the wall in left for a grand slam to cap a six-run first inning.

Mississippi (33-53, 8-8) connected for their first run against Kyler Newby (5-1) in the top of the second as Willie Cabrera launched a home run, but the BayBears added two more in the bottom of the third as Easley doubled Harbin to the dish while scoring on an error from second baseman Dan Nelson.

Easley became the first BayBear to drive home six runs in a game since Javier Brito on August 3, 2008 when he smashed an RBI double to right in the fifth inning to bring home Krauss. Newby lasted 5.2 innings while surrendering five runs on seven hits.

The two squads combined for 11 doubles and 14 extra-base hits in the ballgame. Adam Eaton cracked a two-run triple for the BayBears during a five-run seventh inning. Josh Ellis worked 1.1 innings of scoreless relief for the BayBears while Billy Spottiswood recorded the final six outs despite allowing four runs in mop-up duty.

The BayBears battle the M-Braves again on Saturday night at 7:05 with left-hander Tom Layne (1-0) starting against righty Ken Kawakami (2-3).
