
Hauser Promoted, Fuentes and Choi Added to Roster

BELOIT, WI - Over the last two days, the Beloit Snappers have made a few roster changes. Yesterday, team-leader in ERA Matt Hauser was promoted to the Class-A Advanced Ft. Myers Miracle and today, left-handed pitcher Nelvin Fuentes was removed from the 7-day DL and infielder Hyeong-Rok Choi was added to the roster from Extended Spring Training.
Hauser, a 7th round draft pick from the University of San Diego, was 3-0 with a 1.40 ERA in 17 appearances so far this season for the Snappers. He only allowed three earned runs in 19.1 innings pitched and earned a team-high five saves. Along with Hauser, Logan Darnell, Josmil Pinto, Derek McCallum and Reggie Williams all have been promoted to Ft. Myers from Beloit this season.
Nelvin Fuentes began the first part of the season on the disabled list before being added to the roster today. In 2010, he made 15 appearances out of the bullpen for the Snappers, going 1-1 with a 4.60 ERA. He struck out 41 batters in 29.1 innings. Before he was promoted to Beloit, he made nine appearances for the Rookie League Elizabethton Twins, posting a 0.61 ERA in 14.2 innings with 20 strikeouts in 14.2 innings.
In 2010, the South Korean native Hyeong-Rok Choi, hit .237 in 11 games with E-town. He spent two seasons prior to that with the Gulf Coast League Twins where he hit 10 doubles, had one triple and three home runs in 196 combined at bats. He hit .279 (31-111) in 2010 with 14 RBI and two stolen bases. Choi and Fuentes will join the team today in Dayton.
After taking three out of four games from the Clinton LumberKings to start their 10-game, three city road trip, the Snappers (21-24) now to Dayton to take on the Dragons for three games. They finish their trip in Bowling Green this upcoming weekend before returning home Monday, June 7. They then have nine games in ten days at Pohlman Field that features two fireworks shows (June 10-11) and a giveaway (June 12 - Snappy Piggy Bank Giveaway).
